Fabio Novembre
Fabio Novembre, born in Lecce in 1966, graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1992. Shortly afterwards, he moved to New York, where he attended a film directing course—an experience that broadened his creative vision and introduced a cinematic dimension to his later architectural and design work.
In 1994, he founded Novembre Studio in Milan, which has since become an internationally recognized practice in the fields of architecture and design.
In 2000, he began a three-year collaboration as Art Director for Bisazza, the renowned Italian manufacturer of glass mosaics. During this period, he designed striking showroom spaces in New York and Berlin, distinguished by their immersive atmosphere and strong visual impact.
From 2001 onwards, Novembre collaborated with leading Italian design brands, including Cappellini and Driade, establishing a long-standing and highly productive relationship with the latter. In 2009, for Driade, he designed the iconic Nemo armchair, an anthropomorphic seat inspired by the classical faces of ancient Greek sculpture. The piece has become one of the most recognizable icons of contemporary design and a hallmark of Novembre’s sculptural and visionary aesthetic. In 2019, he was appointed Art Director of Driade, further strengthening his connection with the company.
Alongside his work with Driade, Novembre expanded his collaborations with other prestigious Italian design brands. In 2018, he designed Muse, a collection of lamps for Venini inspired by the metaphysical paintings of Giorgio de Chirico. In the same year, he created Trulli for Kartell, a collection of centrepieces paying tribute to the traditional architecture of his native Puglia.
Alongside his professional practice, Novembre has held several significant academic and institutional positions. In 2019, he was appointed Scientific Director of Domus Academy and became a member of the Scientific Committee of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
Throughout his career, he has also developed architecture and interior design projects for major international clients, including AC Milan, Stuart Weitzman, UNA Hotels, and Generali Assicurazioni. His projects combine functionality with emotional storytelling, transforming spaces into immersive and meaningful experiences.
Today, Novembre Studio operates internationally, and Fabio Novembre is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in contemporary design. His work, characterized by a bold, expressive, and visionary language, continues to transform everyday objects and spaces into authentic artistic experiences.
